El Palmeral is a Retreat House with a Daily rhythm of Prayer and reflection in a Christian tradition, where all are welcome
regardless of faith or background. We have an 'over 25' policy unless the whole house is rented for a private group booking. We usually operate both Guided Retreats with Leaders, and individual bookings that we call TimeOut retreat, which has the rhythm of the day, but no 'programme'. During Covid disruption, we have fewer Guided Retreats than usual, allowing us to offer a spacious, restriction free, safe environment throughout your stay.

We are close to Alicante/Elche Airport. Once you arrive, we can arrange airport pickup and return so that you do not need to hire a car, or take public transport or taxis.

No, it’s not a silly question. A retreat is exactly what it sounds like — the chance to step aside from life for a while, to rest and just ‘be’ in a welcoming, peaceful place. You can design your own retreat by planning a ‘TimeOut’ retreat, taking a fun holiday as well as a reflective retreat. We plan a wide variety of retreats in different years including retreats with themes relevant to a season, special interest eg painting and photography, quiet weeks, themes focusing on particular approaches to spirituality.

Retreats are for ordinary people at any time in their lives. There are no expectations on anyone going on retreat and you don’t need to be a churchgoer. Do you: Wish for some quiet time? Want some time to develop your interests? Need some time for reflection away from work or family? Want to pay more attention to your spiritual life? If you answered yes to ANY of them, then a retreat might be just for you

Well, I guess you will have to discover that for yourself, but you do really get the personal touch – programmes are never bigger than 10 people, so you get individual attention.  TimeOut Retreats are often smaller than that, and that usually allows us to cater for any specific requests, such as beach trips, local attractions, wine tasting etc.  We have many 'repeat' guests, who regard us as their safe haven to return to. The food isn't bad either!
