Spring Birdwatching Retreat
A unique retreat involving quiet and reflective Christian worship, biblical teaching and guided walks looking at the rich birdlife of Spain in spring migration. We expect to see an impressive range of birds including species rarely seen in Britain like Pallid Swift, Hoopoe, Bee-Eater, Purple Heron, Crested Lark and Sardinian Warbler. Our programme will be full but relaxed, with plenty of opportunity to opt out and spend time alone with God.
Dale Hanson
Dale Hanson has assisted his good friend Mark Winter with his Even Sparrows retreats. A keen wildlife photographer, Dale has held a number of senior ministry roles in UK and overseas, most recently as Chaplain of St Marks Versaille.
Who is the programme for?
Clearly it will suit you if you have an interest in the outdoors and birds in particular, but you do not need to be able to describe yourself as an ‘expert’ or ‘enthusiast’. Dale will be able to assist you in tips and techniques in recognition and the background that you need to enjoy the programme. The places we visit will be local natural areas of beauty, and there will be space and time free, so it is also ideal for a couple, even if only one has an interest. It would help to be able to walk short distances on easy terrain, but please contact us if you have specific access requirements, and we will advise on suitability.
